Dr. Kevin Brown, an Ontario Dental Association Provincial Councillor for York Region, attended the semi-annual meeting
to discuss issues facing dentistry at the provincial level. Dr. Brown’s commitment to dentistry is appreciated and will have an impact throughout the province.
Hockey Helps the Homeless

Dr. Brown entered the tournament in support of Hockey Helps the Homeless. The goal was to raise $ 175,000 in one day. Ex-NHL players were on each team adding to the excitement of the day. Congratulations to Dr. Brown on 2 goals and one assist, helping the team into the finals where they lost by a close margin.
It was a great day of fun, excitement and camaraderie—all for a good cause.
The Team completes CPR Recertification

Once again the staff of My Dental Home attended our annual CPR 
re-certification. This refresher course included CPR for adults, children, and infants, as well as how to use the defibrillator (AED –automated external defibrillator), which we have in our office. The course was followed by our annual visit to Wing It in Unionville for refreshments and wings. While we hope there is never the need for CPR, you can rest assured we are all qualified to take care of you at My Dental Home.

Dr. Brown was excited to celebrate practising dentistry in Markham for 25 years by hosting an Open House, Oct 13, 2011. The event included delicious harvest foods, games, a bouncy tent and a popcorn machine.
Dr. Brown was thrilled to reminisce with former employees, team members, politicians and many long term patients. Thank you Markham for all of your support!

Dr. Gómez joins My Dental Home

Dr. Gómez was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, a small city on the northern coast of South America. From an early age she learned the importance of helping others and the value of hard work from spending time with her parents at hospitals in rural communities.
Dr. Gómez moved to Canada at the age of 16 and after learning English in only 6 months she started university. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Microbiology and Immunology from Dalhousie University. After spending 5 years in Halifax, Dr. Gómez moved to London, Ontario to attend the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario where she graduated as Doctor of Dental Surgery with Distinction.
Dr. Gómez feels very fortunate to have had all of these opportunities and is a firm believer that working towards the wellbeing of others is the best way to give back to the community. She believes that continuing education and life-long learning is essential in order to provide the best possible care to her patients.
In her free time, Dr. Gómez enjoys running, reading, painting and spending time with her family. She is a member of the following associations:
