Laura, Director of Operations

Laura graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1984 with a BA. After a thirteen-year career in the computer industry, it was time for a change and she joined the team on moving day into Sabiston Heritage House, November 1998. Laura enjoys the many hats she must wear as office manager and enjoys learning new aspects of the dental industry. In her spare time she plays golf, baseball and is creative with photography.

Linda, Scheduling Coordinator

Linda has been involved in dental office administration since 1987. She updates her skills by attending many continuing educational seminars including Invisalign, Implants, Cerec 3 and Periodontal Disease Management. With many years of customer service experience, she enjoys assisting patients with their dental needs. Recently, she received her Horticulturist Certificate (CHT) from the University of Guelph. Outside the office Linda enjoys gardening, golfing and spending time with her family.

Beata, Scheduling Coordinator

Beata was born and raised in Poland. Before coming to Canada, she studied Law and then lived in Greece for over 3 years. After arriving in Canada, Beata attended Career Canada College for Dental Assisting and is HARP certified. She joined our team in 2011. Beata has taken many continuing education courses in the dental field because she always enjoys learning new skills. Beata has 2 sons and has a passion for yoga. She also enjoys travelling and reading.

Mindy, Scheduling Co-ordinator

Mindy joined the team at MyDentalHome in August 2013. Mindy has been working in the dental field as both a Dental Assistant and an Administrator for 12 years. Mindy graduated from CDI College in 2005, as a Harp Certified Level 1 Dental Assistant. She continues her dental education by attending Dental Education Seminars. She enjoys Outdoor Photography and spending time with her husband and their daughters.

Ron, Restorative Dental Hygienist

Ron joined the team in 1993 as a Dental Hygienist. He returned to school to upgrade his skills as a Restorative Dental Hygienist. He is currently working alongside Dr. Brown utilizing his restorative skills. He attends continuing education courses to maintain standards in patient care. He balances his busy schedule with his wife, two sons and his dog. He is another male voice, helping to support Dr. Brown in a sea of females! He has recently taken up martial arts in order to defend himself from the ladies at work!

Teena, Dental Hygienist

Teena, a dental hygiene graduate from Seneca College, is proud to be part of MyDentalHome within the community of Markham. She has actively nurtured this practice and delights in the growth and technological development at MyDentalHome. She has a passion for the prevention and treatment of periodontal disease. Teena has had the opportunity to work for a periodontist (gum disease specialist) and a paedondontist (specializing in dentistry for children). Teena has received her Dental Hygiene Implant Certificate from the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries at the International Congress of Dental Implantology. She is also the wife of Dr. Kevin Brown and the mother of four active children, Amy, Colin, Lukas and Emmalee. Teena enjoys dragon boating, golf, water sports, skiing, kayaking, kickboxing and spending time in the Haliburton Highlands.

Stephanie, Dental Hygienist

Stephanie has returned to be a member of the team at MyDentalHome. Stephanie started off as a High School co-op student in 2000. After graduating from high school Stephanie went to Georgian College for Dental Assisting Certificate. After graduation, she returned to work with the team as a Dental Assistant. After 2 years of dental assisting Stephanie went back to school to follow her ultimate dream of becoming a Dental Hygienist and graduated with honors. Stephanie continues to participate in continuing education seminars and online courses to ensure the best treatment for her clients. Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband and their toothless rescue dog MiaBooBoo and traveling whenever they can.

Kerri, Dental Hygienist

Kerri began her dental career as an assistant for Dr. Brown but always knew that she would return to school to pursue Dental Hygiene. After graduating from West Liberty University in West Virginia, she rejoined the MyDentalHome team as a Dental Hygienist. With over 20 years of experience she has seen many changes in dentistry, from advancements in treating periodontal (gum) disease, Invisalign braces and placement of dental implants. Her commitment to this practice, continuing education and her membership with different dental associations shows her dedication to the field of dental hygiene. She feels so blessed to be able to be a small part of her patients’ lives for so long. When not in the office Kerri spends time at home with her husband Jeff and her children Rachel and Jacob.

Margit, Dental Hygienist

Margit is a graduate of University of Guelph with a B.A. in Psychology. She supported herself through University working in a dental office and switched professions as a result of her experiences. She enjoys helping people gain a better understanding of their dental condition particularly in the treatment and prevention of periodontal disease. After working 20 years in the dental profession, she continues to upgrade herself by attending continuing education seminars, completing online courses and being a member in several Dental Associations. Margit enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on and spicy vegetarian Indian cuisine.

Louise, Dental Hygienist

Louise, a dental hygiene graduate from Georgian College has been in hygiene for 25+ years. She has been a resident of Markham since 2005. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially conversing with, and getting to know her patients. She has a gentle yet thorough touch, and continues to attend courses to expand her expertise in various dental and health related topics. Outside of dental hygiene, she also has her own consulting business called NutritionallyFit.ca. Her interests include spending time with her husband and three grown children, as well as fitness, triathlons and reading.

Kim, Dental Hygienist

Kim began her Dental Career at the age of 16 assisting dentists after school. She enjoyed it so much she went onto receive her Dental Assisting Certificate and worked as a Dental Assistant for a year. Following this, Kim attended Niagara College and obtained her Dental Hygiene diploma. In the past, as a Dental Hygienist, Kim has worked in general dental practices including Dr. Brown’s office. She continued to expand her skills and knowledge by working in a periodontal specialty practice for 5 years. She enjoys volunteering with local dental projects, travelling, cooking, reading and running with her dogs.

Jorge, Dental Hygienist

Jorge is enthusiastic about being involved in the dental field ever since he first started dental assisting in high school. From there, he went through 4 years at York University and earned a B.Sc. in Biology. Once having completed his Bachelor degree, Jorge successfully completed the Dental Hygiene program at Oxford College in 2008. Now a long time member of the team, Jorge is very excited to continue working with Dr. Brown and Associates at MyDentalHome, providing excellent client care. In his spare time, Jorge is a big “movie buff” and enjoys playing guitar (or at least trying to play), watching his favourite soccer teams play, and spending time with his lovely wife and 2 little boys.

Valerie, Certified Dental Assistant

Valerie graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant in 1976. During her years of experience, Valerie has continued to upgrade her skills with continued education and by working with dental consulting firms. Valerie's work experience has included chairside assistant, receptionist, and practice management. Valerie's knowledge of the dental profession allows her to assist our clients in understanding their dental needs and make informed dental decisions. Valerie is a certified treatment coordinator with the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries at the International Congress of Dental Implantology. In her time away from MyDentalHome, Valerie enjoys the company of family. When she is not with her 3 grandchildren, Valerie enjoys collecting antiques, and of course shopping.

Jennifer, Certified Dental Assistant, Level II

Jennifer works for Dr. Brown as a Level II Dental Assistant. She graduated in 1987 as a certified dental assistant upgraded to a Level II in 1995. She enjoys learning the new technology in Dr. Brown's practice and the ability to remain current. She particularly enjoys mastering new procedures such as the CEREC 3D technology. Jennifer has two children and a grandson. She has a love of pets and owns two horses. You can find Jen at the barn riding or with her family.

Shelby, Certified Dental Assistant Level II

Shelby works for Dr. Brown as a dental assistant. She graduated from the Dental Assisting Level II program at Durham College in January 2014. She enjoys all the experiences she encounters every day at the office with the help of a great dental team. Outside of MyDentalHome, she enjoys socializing with friends and family, camping and yummy treats.

Christina, Certified Dental Assistant, Level II

Christina has been a Certified Dental Assistant since 1995. After completing two years of study at York University in psychology, she then attended Seneca College to complete the Dental Assisting Program. In 2000, Christina went to the Medix School in London, Ontario where she acquired her Level II status. Outside MyDentalHome, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and son. Together they enjoy the outdoors, boating and fishing. Christina is a Maple Leaf fan and loves to spend time with family, friends, especially children. Christina's many years of dental experience, along with her love of people, helps to provide a comfortable, friendly environment for her patients.
