About Us

My Dental Home refers to the historical Victorian home where Dr. Kevin F. Brown has chosen to establish his General Dental practice. Our goal is to help you enhance and preserve your beautiful, healthy smile.

At My Dental Home, the family (our team) led by Dr. Kevin F. Brown is dedicated to providing comprehensive care, in an historic, Victorian heritage home. Don’t let the quaint decor fool you. Although built in 1885, the house is packed to the rafters with current technology, such as Cerec 3D restorations, Intraoral camera, Panoramic Xray, EDI, Digital 2D & 3D x-rays and digital impressions (no more moulds needed!)

The Team


Director of Operations

Laura graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1984 with a BA. After a thirteen-year career in the computer industry, it was time for a change and she joined the team on moving day into Sabiston Heritage House, November 1998. Laura enjoys the many hats she must wear as office manager and enjoys learning new aspects of the dental industry. In her spare time she plays golf, baseball and is creative with photography.


Restorative Dental Hygienist

Ron joined the team in 1993 as a Dental Hygienist. He returned to school to upgrade his skills as a Restorative Dental Hygienist. He is currently working alongside Dr. Brown utilizing his restorative skills. He attends continuing education courses to maintain standards in patient care. He balances his busy schedule with his wife, two sons and his dog. He is another male voice, helping to support Dr. Brown in a sea of females! He has recently been awarded his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and title of Professor after over a decade of practice.  Unfortunately, this has not deterred the ladies from beating him up!


Dental Hygienist

Teena, a dental hygiene graduate from Seneca College, is proud to be part of MyDentalHome within the community of Markham. She has actively nurtured this practice and delights in the growth and technological development at MyDentalHome. She has a passion for the prevention and periodontal disease treatment. Teena has had the opportunity to work for a periodontist (gum disease specialist) and a paedondontist (specializing in dentistry for children). Teena has received her Dental Hygiene Implant Certificate from the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries at the International Congress of Dental Implantology. She is also the wife of Dr. Kevin Brown and the mother of four grown children, Amy, Colin, Lukas and Emmalee. Teena enjoys dragon boating, golf, water sports, skiing, kayaking, kickboxing and spending time in the Haliburton Highlands.


Dental Hygienist

Kerri began her dental career as an assistant for Dr. Brown and always knew she would return to school to pursue Dental Hygiene.  After graduating from West Liberty University in West Virginia, she rejoined the My Dental Home team as a Dental Hygienist.  With over 25 years of experience she has seen many changes in dentistry, from advancements in treating periodontal (gum) disease, placement of dental implants and the use of technology.  Her commitment to this practice, continuing education and her membership with both the Ontario and Canadian Hygienists Associations shows her dedication to the field of dental hygiene.  When not in the office Kerri spends time at home with her husband Jeff and children Rachel and Jacob.  She enjoys reading, camping, walking, and travelling with friends and family.


Dental Hygienist

Margit graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours B.A. in Psychology. She supported herself through University while working in a dental office and switched professions as a result of her experiences. She enjoys helping people gain a better understanding of their dental condition particularly in the treatment and prevention of periodontal disease. After working 40+ years in the dental profession, she loves to continually upgrade herself through continuing education courses and professional readings. Margit is also a member of several Dental Associations. She has been with My Dental Home for over 18 years and has made life long connections with her patients and team members. Margit enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on and everything related to her “Happy Place”, the cottage.


Dental Hygienist

Louise, a dental hygiene graduate from Georgian College has been in hygiene for 25+ years.  She has been a resident of Markham since 2005.  She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially conversing with, and getting to know her patients.  She has a gentle yet thorough touch, and continues to attend courses to expand her expertise in various dental and health related topics.  Outside of dental hygiene, she also has her own consulting business called  Her interests include spending time with her husband, and three grown children, as well as fitness, triathlons and reading. 


Dental Hygienist

Kim began her Dental Career at the age of 16 assisting dentists after school. She enjoyed it so much she went onto receive her Dental Assisting Certificate and worked as a Dental Assistant for a year. Following this, Kim attended Niagara College and obtained her Dental Hygiene diploma. In the past, as a Dental Hygienist, Kim has worked in general dental practices including Dr. Brown’s office. She continued to expand her skills and knowledge by working in a periodontal specialty practice for 5 years. She enjoys volunteering with local dental projects, travelling, cooking, reading and running with her dogs.


Certified Dental Assistant

Valerie graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant in 1976. During her years of experience, Valerie has continued to upgrade her skills with continued education and by working with dental consulting firms. Valerie’s work experience has included chairside assistant, receptionist, and practice management. Valerie’s knowledge of the dental profession allows her to assist our clients in understanding their dental needs and make informed dental decisions. Valerie is a certified treatment coordinator with the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries at the International Congress of Dental Implantology. In her time away from MyDentalHome, Valerie enjoys the company of family. When she is not with her grandchildren, Valerie enjoys collecting antiques, and of course shopping.


Certified Dental Assistant, Level II

Jennifer works for Dr. Brown as a Level II Dental Assistant. She graduated in 1987 as a certified dental assistant upgraded to a Level II in 1995. She enjoys learning the new technology in Dr. Brown’s practice and the ability to remain current. She particularly enjoys mastering new procedures such as the CEREC 3D technology. Jennifer has two children and a grandson. She has a love of pets and owns two horses. You can find Jen at the barn riding or with her family.


Dental Hygienist

Karine is a practising dental hygienist for over 3 years. Throughout her short career, she is completing an undergraduate degree in Biology to pursue her dental school studies to transition into becoming a dentist. As a relatively new yet proud member of the team, Karine updates and refreshes her dental hygiene knowledge through continuing education courses to keep up with the utmost quality of dental services the entire My Dental Home family has to offer. Although fluent in French and English, Karine picked up learning Spanish and Farsi in her spare time. She does freestyle-skiing in the wintertime and plays any sport with a ball in the summertime with family and friends. Finally, Karine has a notorious sweet tooth, especially in the presence of cookies and Timbits, where she can quite literally bite off more than she can chew.


Dental Hygienist

Paige joined the My Dental Home Team since March 2018. A graduate of Durham College, she has been a practicing Dental Hygienist for 25+ years, most of which were spent working in a Periodontal Specialty Practice. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially helping patients by sharing her knowledge and skills in the prevention and management of periodontal disease. Paige enjoys continuing her education, keeping current and is a member of several Dental Associations. Much of her spare time is spent with her husband, two daughters, the family dog and visiting family on The Bruce Peninsula.


Scheduling Coordinator

Beata was born and raised in Poland. Before coming to Canada, she studied Law and then lived in Greece for over 3 years. After arriving in Canada, Beata attended Career Canada College for Dental Assisting and is HARP certified. She joined our team in 2011. Beata has taken many continuing education courses in the dental field because she always enjoys learning new skills. Beata has 2 sons and has a passion for yoga. She also enjoys travelling and reading.


Certified Dental Assistant, Level II

Grace graduated from Medix College as a Level II Dental Assistant. She has also passed the NDAEB exam and now a Certified Level II Dental Assistant. She is an active member of Ontario Dental Assistant Association. She was a registered nurse in the Philippines before she came to Canada. Grace is a big fan of personal development and she dedicates time to take online courses. She likes to spend time with the family outdoors and she enjoys watercolor painting.


Certified Dental Assistant

Nadia graduated in 2012 with her Level II Dental Assisting. She enjoys working with new dental equipment in a busy office, like My Dental Home. She is enjoying the transition between the 2 offices of Markham Village Dental and My Dental Home. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.


Certified Dental Assistant, Level II

Lisa is a certified dental assistant level II and works with Dr. Brown and Ron. She enjoys working with people and adores the community and atmosphere at My Dental Home. It is a pleasure to see patients finish their appointments with a smile. Lisa has two children and is a dedicated yoga practitioner. She loves to spend her time with family, create art and poetry and read.


Scheduling Coordinator

Tahira is a certified Dental Receptionist. She has been working in the dental field since 2010. Her hobbies are hiking, biking, reading and gardening. While working part-time she is also pursuing her undergrad at Durham college in Behavioural Sciences. She is delighted to book the appointments for patients and is happy to answer any questions that you have about your dental health.


Scheduling Coordinator

Hafiza graduated from York University with a Biology Honors. Also, she received an accounting diploma from Russia. She always wanted to work in healthcare or dental field, but she chose dentistry. She has more than 5 years experience working in dental office. She loves traveling, sightseeing, and reading science books. Her favorite sports are basketball and volleyball. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.


Scheduling Coordinator

Wanda joined the My Dental Home team in 2021 and besides scheduling all your dental visits to keep your oral health on track, she can assist you with any questions you may have about our office. Don’t be surprised to hear her voice asking “How can I help you smile?”  With a friendly demeanour she enjoys getting to know patients and making them feel at ease. In her spare time she loves to bake, hike and enjoys the outdoors with her family.


Scheduling Coordinator

Jean has been employed in the dental field since 2000, after graduating from George Brown College as a dental assistant. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling whenever she gets a chance. Her desire here at My Dental Home is to make you feel comfortable, relaxed and passionate about your oral health.


Certified Dental Assistant, Level II

Kal, graduated from Medix College 2012 as a Dental Assistant II and is HARP certificated.

She joined My Dental Home in 2020 and enjoys working with the great team members everyday.She began her dental career after moving back from Los Angeles. When living in Los Angeles she got her cleaning done from the University Of Southern California and that’s when she knew that she wanted to be part of the dental world. On her free time she enjoys spending time with her mom and twin sister.   She loves playing and watching sports,  running outdoors and travelling.


Restorative Dental Hygienist

Cathy has enjoyed being a dental hygienist since 2002, graduating from Algonquin College and continued her education by taking the Restorative Dental Hygiene program, she was also a clinical instructor for the Dental Assistant program at Algonquin College.

She takes great pride in being part of her patients and their family’s lives, watching them grow through the milestones all the while improving and maintaining their oral health. When not in the office Cathy loves spending time with her two young boys, husband and dog Mango. She enjoys travelling, trying new foods and keeping active.


Dental Hygienist

Farzi is one of the dental hygienists at My Dental Home. Her aim is to help you with your oral health. She will do her best to inform you of the various ways that you can do to further improve or maintain your oral health. Her gentle touch promises to make your every visit as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
